Editorial Standards

NorovirusQuestions.com is a public health information resource covering norovirus. This page describes the editorial standards, source policies, and review processes that govern this site.

Primary Sources

All clinical content on this site is sourced exclusively from authoritative primary sources:

  • U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • World Health Organization (WHO)
  • U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) / National Library of Medicine
  • Peer-reviewed journals (NEJM, The Lancet, JAMA, MMWR, PLoS Medicine, and others)

Secondary sources (news articles, Wikipedia, health blogs) are never used as the basis for clinical claims. Statistics are cited with their source; where CDC and WHO figures differ, both are noted.

Author and Review Process

All content is researched and written by Andy Wilcox, an independent researcher with 30+ years of analytical experience. He is not a physician. His methodology is to work directly from primary CDC/WHO source documents and peer-reviewed literature, applying analytical rigor to synthesize accurate and accessible information.

Every clinical page includes a "Last reviewed" date. Pages are reviewed monthly against current CDC and WHO guidance using an automated process. The automated review fetches current source content, identifies claims that are outdated or directly contradicted by the current sources, and applies targeted corrections. Human review of the automated output is performed before any changes are committed.
